St. Luke’s Choristers in Nashville

A group of Junior and Senior Choristers from St. Luke’s Atlanta recently represented the Diocese of Atlanta at the 23rd annual Cathedral Chorister Festival at Christ Church Cathedral in Nashville, TN between March 25-27. The festival hosted Matthew Owens, Director of Music at Belfast Cathedral in Northern Ireland, as guest conductor. Choristers were joined by other Episcopal parishes throughout the Diocese of Tennessee in leading music for Sunday morning Eucharist and an afternoon Choral Evensong. St. Luke’s Rector, The Reverend Winnie Varghese, was invited as Celebrant for the morning Eucharist. In addition to a weekend of new friendships made through beautiful music, St. Luke’s Choristers also enjoyed a visit to Urban Air in Nashville! St. Luke’s music program currently boasts 46 children in its ever-growing Chorister program and is led by Matthew Brown, Director of Music, and Colleen Kingston, Associate Director of Music for Children and Youth. St. Luke’s plans to host its own festival in November. For additional information, contact Matthew Brown, Director of Music, at matthew@stlukesatlanta.org.
