Adult Boundary Issues for Clergy & Lay Leaders (parts A & B required) Session 2
This two-part workshop provides the diocesan required training for clergy, staff, and others who minister to other adults on a one-to-one basis where issues of trust and confidentiality are at issue. Anyone who counsels or ministers to others is potentially vulnerable to becoming sexually involved with them. This workshop will provide opportunities to talk about ethics, standards, power, intimacy, boundaries, gifts, and legal ecclesiastical ramifications. Both sessions are needed to fulfill the requirements for the training. The Rev. Safeguarding God's Children -- For Parents & Congregations (Part A) Session 2
Training for the protection of children and youth from child sexual abuse. This is the required training for clergy and lay staff in Episcopal institutions in the Diocese of Atlanta, along with lay volunteers who work with children and youth. Your Boundaries. Your Call!! Session 1
Overview of a new program for Teens from the creators of Safeguarding God's Children. This program teaches middle-and high-school youth self-protection skills around the area of sexual abuse. This workshop will share the program goals and methodology with parents, adult youth leaders, teachers, and clergy in order to help them determine its use in their parish. The Rev. Dr. William Harkins III, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice at the Brookwood Center for Psychotherapy, teaches pastoral theology and counseling at Columbia Theological Seminary, Priest Associate for Pastoral Care at the Cathedral of St. Philip and a diocesan trainer for Safeguarding God's Children
