Church Architecture: Form, Function, and Faith - Session 3
The way we build our churches shapes the way we believe by shaping the way that we worship. For those who want to learn more about why churches look the way they do, the changes that have taken place in church architecture through the years, and how church architecture can be welcoming (or not) of visitors and newcomers, this workshop will explore the in's and out's of our church buildings and their role in shaping our faith. The second part of this workshop will be a primer in the basics of a church construction project and how to assess programming needs and the development of a master site plan for the local parish. The Rev.Paul "Tripp" Norris, Rector, St. Columba's and Chair of the Commission on Church Architecture and Church Construction along with other commission members
Getting to Know DAYA-Diocese of Atlanta Young Adults - Session 1
Have you ever noticed an age gap in your congregation? Are you between the ages of 18-35 and wondering where your peers are? Are you interested in learning more about young adult ministries and how to attract young adults to your congregation?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, please join us for an informative and fun seminar on Young Adult Ministries in the Diocese of Atlanta. DAYA is a new organization in the Diocese that has the mission of helping young adults grow in their faith and connect with their peers. We look for new ways to get people in their 20's and 30's excited about church again and we would like to share some of these ideas with you. We will give you a brief history of who we are, offer tips on how to get involved with young adults, and discuss ideas on ways we can all do this more affectively. We look forward to sharing our energy and our enthusiasm for a mission that Bishop Alexander has named as one of his top priorities for the next year!!! Lauren Woody, Diocesan Coordinator for DAYA

Marketing on a Dime Session 3
You know how wonderful your parish is--how do you get that message out to others? It's not just about newspaper ads, or just about your website (although those are very important). It's about looking at your neighborhood and surrounding area and finding the key ways to get out and let people know that your parish is there and ready to welcome new people. This workshop will look at specific and creative ways to stretch your marketing money (and even some places to find some) and make your parish known. The Rev. Canon Alicia Schuster Weltner, Canon for Congregational Development, and Jonathan Jones, Director of Congregational Development, St. Benedict's Church.
