About CDI
"CDI" stands for "The Church Development Institute," a comprehensive program in congregational development serving the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Church of Canada.
CDI's goal is to equip teams of clergy and laity to lead congregations into the future through:
· Renewing the baptismal identity and the apostolic ministry of parishioners· Empowering congregational teams to work effectively towards a common goal· Providing tools and strategies for growth and transformationCDI is rooted in Anglican spirituality and identity. It draws on methods of organizational development and couples them with a spiritual base. Worship and spiritual reflection are integral parts of every CDI workshop.
CDI's hands-on approach will allow participants to gain experience, not just theory. In between workshops, you will have the chance to apply what you learn in your own ministry situation. Through later reflection with your learning application team, you can deepen your insights and broaden your perspectives.
Workshop sessions include:
* Establishing a Comprehensive Congregational Development Strategy
* Strategies for Evangelism and Growth
* Trust Development in church groups
* Conflict Management
* Shaping Congregational Life
* Defining and Marketing a Congregation
* Organizational Life Cycle
* Understanding the Congregation as a System of inter-related parts
* Personality Types and Dynamics
* Leadership Styles
* Shared Leadership
* The Dynamics of Change in a parish
* Dealing with Outside Forces in culture and location that effect congregations
What participants are saying...
"Through our experiential group work, I am more tuned in to all the variables that contribute to a successful session and more aware of all the choices available to me as a facilitator and participant."
"I have a taste of gathering and interpreting data and can see how much this piece is neglected in church leadership. I want to become proficient in this area for my leadership development."
