+ ORGANIST (long-term substitute) for St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, Decatur, Ga.

St. Timothy’s is seeking a long-term substitute, for church organist at this African-Caribbean and African-American Episcopal congregation.  Responsibilities will include planning and preparation of appropriate organ and choral music for one Sunday morning worship service per week; conducting a choir rehearsal for 15-20 choir members; and playing for a youth choir on fifth Sundays.  The candidate is expected to have adequate practice time weekly in order to prepare for Sunday morning worship services.  A candidate with a master’s degree in music is desired, and experience in liturgical worship is essential. The church’s musical instruments are an electronic Rodgers organ with digital sequencer and sound module and MIDI capabilities, and an upright piano. The salary range for this position is negotiable.
